The Acupuncture Prescription

Acupunture Prescription

What you should know before you decide to have Acupuncture?

When you have high fever or an infection you will be advised to take frequent doses of medicine by your GP or practice nurse. The dose would be adjusted according to your need .It could be three times or 8 hourly per day till you complete . Then the frequency would be reduced right? If that is familiar to you, then you would understand the following too.

1) Cumulative effect

For acupuncture to work in your favour repeat the sessions is a must. Get the treatment in a row for best results .Long breaks and infrequent sessions are of little help.

2) Why repeated sessions.

Repeated treatments are necessary for the rewiring to happen and get the brain out of the established chronic pain pathway.

4) Longer Sessions

Sometimes longer sessions help the patient by allowing the needles to work longer and the patient relaxes, even snoozes a bit with the needles in, and wakes up after the session to feel fresh and “reborn”

5) Discussion

Talk with the acupuncturist and make a tailored schedule which will suit your health condition and affordability. It is difficult to predict beforehand how you would respond. But we keep the individual needs in mind and work around it.

All pains like Neck Pain, Shoulder Pain, Elbow Pain, Wrist Pain, Finger pain, Sciatic Pain, Low back Pain, Knee pain, Ankle Pain, Foot Pain, Gout Pain, Headache, Migraine, if intense or mild would respond well with repeated acupuncture sessions.

Functional disorders like Menopause Symptoms, Stress headache, Sleep Disturbances, Insomnia, IBS would also need multiple sessions for benefits.
